SUSTAINABILITY

Rating: Moderate

  1. Aqua (Water): Water is renewable, but its environmental impact depends on conservation efforts and water scarcity in certain regions.
  2. Glycerin: Plant-derived and biodegradable, making it a sustainable choice if sourced responsibly.
  3. Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate: A mild, biodegradable surfactant derived from coconut or palm oil, but sustainability depends on sourcing practices.
  4. Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate: A surfactant derived from coconut oil, biodegradable and sustainable if sourced responsibly.
  5. Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate: A gentle surfactant from coconut oil, biodegradable, and relatively low impact if sourced sustainably.
  6. Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer: A synthetic polymer derived from petrochemicals. Non-biodegradable and has a high environmental footprint.
  7. Lauryl Betaine: A biodegradable surfactant derived from coconut oil, generally considered sustainable if coconut is sourced responsibly.
  8. Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer: A synthetic, non-biodegradable polymer with a significant environmental impact due to its petrochemical origin.
  9. Aminomethyl Propanol: A synthetic pH adjuster, generally low impact but not biodegradable.
  10. Methylparaben: A synthetic preservative that is biodegradable and has relatively low environmental impact.
  11. Ethylparaben: Similar to methylparaben, this preservative is biodegradable but still synthetic, contributing some environmental impact.
  12. Niacinamide: A synthetic form of Vitamin B3, with moderate environmental impact from production but biodegradable.
  13. Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate: A naturally derived surfactant, biodegradable, and sustainable when sourced from renewable plants.
  14. Ethylhexylglycerin: A synthetic preservative and skin-conditioning agent, biodegradable with moderate environmental impact.
  15. Ceramide AP, Ceramide NP, Ceramide EOP: Sphingolipids derived from plant sources or synthesized. Sustainable if plant-based and produced responsibly.
  16. Phytosphingosine: A naturally occurring lipid from plant sources, biodegradable and sustainable if sourced responsibly.
  17. Cholesterol: Often derived from animal sources but can also be plant-based. Plant-derived cholesterol is more sustainable.
  18. Xanthan Gum: A natural, biodegradable polysaccharide produced through fermentation of carbohydrates, highly sustainable.
  19. Carbomer: A synthetic polymer, non-biodegradable, with a significant environmental impact due to its petrochemical origins.
